About the Item
For thousands of years, in many different cultures, white doves have been a symbol of peace. The peace lily acquired its name because of its resemblance to the white flag of truce. White poppies were adopted after WWI as a pledge that war must not happen again. Spreading peace throughout the world requires action such as the lion laying down with the lamb (represented here by the dandelion flower and lambs ear plants).

- David Morrison, Wind-Up Bird No. 6, hyperrealist color pencil animal drawingBy David MorrisonLocated in New York, NYDavid Morrison has extended his brand of hyperrealism to the artificial, capturing the intricate lithography that decorates his collection of vintage Kohler wind-up birds. His drawings are often mistaken for a photograph from afar - on approach, they dissolve into a mesmerizing display of mark-making.This new body of work plays with the boundaries between organic and manufactured: the metal imposters are resplendent as they perch, pert and expectant, on wilting greenery. Yet another layer of irony, the toy birds...Category
