'Taking Flight' by Lori Poncsak - Pollock Inspired Abstract Expressionism

2023

About the Item

'Taking Flight' by Lori Poncsak is a captivating 30" x 40" acrylic on canvas that exemplifies abstract expressionism through its energetic and spontaneous application of paint. Dominated by a dynamic interplay of blues and whites, the artwork captures the essence of movement and freedom, as if watching a flock of birds soaring against a stormy sky. The rich, dark blues, combined with splashes of lighter aqua and scattered hints of grey, suggest a vibrant dance of shadows and light, reminiscent of the chaotic beauty of birds in motion. The scattered, seemingly random droplets of paint across the canvas enhance the sense of untamed energy and liberation. This piece evokes a deep emotional response, stirring feelings of aspiration and the exhilarating rush of breaking free from constraints. 'Taking Flight' invites the viewer to contemplate the beauty of unbridled freedom, making it a powerful statement in any space that values the profound depths of abstract art. About the Artist: Lori Poncsak is a contemporary artist with over two decades of self-taught painting experience, celebrated for her expressive exploration of form and color.
