Sunset. The fog is spreading. Bolshoye Sytkovo

2020

About the Item

In this sketch from nature, I tried to convey the fleeting beauty of the sunset, the lilac fog enveloping the meadows and forests, and the serene landscape near the village of Bolshoye Sytkovo. Somewhere in the distance you can hear the cuckoo singing, and in the silence of the evening after a hot day, birds occasionally fly by. Using impressionistic and realistic techniques in oil on canvas, my brushstrokes reflect the peaceful yet powerful dance of light as it recedes into the horizon, mingling with earthy greens and lighting up the sky. This piece is an ode to the deep peace and reflection that nature brings, inviting contemplative calm into any space.

Maples are one of the most charming trees in autumn. They change color from red and purple to ocher, gold and orange. In this full-scale oil study, I sought to convey the enchanting play of light and color that heralds the arrival of autumn. On the day the sketch was painted, the weather was cloudy, but sometimes the sun came out and it was warm. The bright shades of golden maple leaves against the backdrop of centuries-old trunks...
