About the Item
This 19th c. classically realistic oil on canvas painting depicts the majesty of a large sailing vessel on the sea against a light blue sky filled with white cumulus clouds. A gentle wind creates white seafoam as the waves break against the bow of the ship. The artist is unknown.
The painting is framed with a gilt historic wooden frame with new linen liner. The painting was professionally cleaned in 2020.
