Excerpted from the volume (translated from French), This volume has been finished printing October, Fifteen, 1926. For the text: by the printing of the book A. Rueil, H. Filipacchi being director, and for engravings by Engelmann printer—lithographs in Paris. It was taken from this volume: an example on hollande van paper gelder with a sequel of lithographs on paper from china, and original sketches, bearing number 1 to 24 examples on holland paper van gelder with a suite of paper lithographs from china, numbered from 2 to 25, and 300 examples on arches paper numbered from 26 to 325. It was also pulled out of trade: 15 examples on holland paper van gelder, numbered from I to xv. 25 examples on arches paper, numbered from xvi to xl. Quoted from the catalogue entry from the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart (translated from German), Based on drawings and motifs from his paintings, Robert Delaunay created the lithographs for ALLO! PARIS! Avec vingt lithographies par Robert Delaunay. They illustrate poems by Joseph Delteil in ten chapters and show all the important sights of the French metropolis, including some from unusual perspectives from a bird's eye view: Sacré-Coeur, the Île de la Cité with Nôtre-Dame, Saint Sévérin, the Arch de Triumph on the Place de l'Étoile, the Place de la Concorde, Montmartre, the boulevards, the Seine with its bridges and of course the Eiffel Tower. This only work illustrated by Delaunay is a declaration of love to Paris in text and images. Quoted from the catalogue entry from The Minneapolis Institute of Art, One of the pioneers of European modernism, Robert Delaunay was primarily a painter, only occasionally delving into printmaking and book illustration. Indeed, Allo! Paris! features his only original book illustrations. The book's subject is the rhythm and vitality of Paris, as manifested in its various architectural landmarks. Delaunay focuses on the Eiffel Tower, which at the time was the world's tallest structure and a potent symbol of modernity. The 20 monochromatic lithographs offer a glimpse of Delaunay's fascination with Cubist fragmentation of space.
ROBERT DELAUNAY (1885-1941) was a French artist of the School of Paris movement who, with his wife, Sonia Delaunay and others, co-founded the Orphism art movement, noted for its use of strong colours and geometric shapes. His later works were more abstract. His key influence related to bold use of colour and a clear love of experimentation with both depth and tone. He was in the milieu of Picasso and Matisse.

- Michael Gross Israeli Minimalist Conceptual Art, Abstract Jerusalem SilkscreenBy Michael GrossLocated in Surfside, FLMichael Gross (Hebrew: מיכאל גרוס; 1920 – 4 November 2004) was an Israeli painter, sculptor and conceptual artist. Michael Gross was born in Tiberias in the British-administered Palestine in 1920. He grew up in the farming village of Migdal. In 1939-1940, he left to study at the Teachers’ Training College in Jerusalem. In 1939, while he was away, his father was murdered by Arabs, and the family farm and home were destroyed. This event impacted on his work as an artist. From 1943 to 1945, he studied architecture at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa. From 1951 to 1954, he studied art at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He returned to Israel in 1954 and settled in the artists’ village of Ein Hod. Gross's works are imbued with the light and spirit. They are minimalist, but never pure abstraction, always tied to natural form and laden with feeling. In his early paintings, Gross simplified form in order to concentrate on proportion, broad areas of color, and the size and placement of each element. This reductive process was also notable in his sculptures, whether in painted iron or other materials such as white concrete. In later paintings, he often juxtaposed large off-white panels with patches of tone, adding textured materials such as wooden beams, burlap and rope. Gross’s rough, freely-brushed surfaces, along with the use of soft pastel coloring, conjure up images of the Israeli landscape.
