The images shown are the exact poster you will receive. A- "Less Dangerous than Careless Talk" is a World War II propaganda poster designed to caution against the dangers of loose lips and the inadvertent sharing of sensitive information. The poster features a striking illustration of a rattlesnake getting ready to strike. This imagery conveys the idea that seemingly innocent conversations could inadvertently aid the enemy. Albert Dorne, an American illustrator and co-founder of the Famous Artists School, is credited as the artist behind this iconic poster. Dorne was known for his dynamic and dramatic illustrations, and his work on this poster effectively captures the seriousness of the message it conveys. During World War II, propaganda posters like "Less Dangerous than Careless Talk" were used by governments to mobilize public support, boost morale, and promote behaviors that were deemed conducive to the war effort. In this case, the poster aimed to remind citizens to be cautious about discussing sensitive information in public spaces, as such conversations could potentially be overheard and exploited by enemy agents. The phrase "Careless Talk Costs Lives" became a common slogan during the war, appearing on various propaganda materials across Allied countries. It reminded people of the importance of discretion and confidentiality in wartime communications. This is an Original Lithograph Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction.
