Original etching hand-colored. Printed by Niccolò Pagni and Giovanni Bardi, Firenze (Italy).
Good conditions except for light foxings along the margin.
The artwork is the plate n.6 (as indicated on plate on higher right corner) from the series Proverbi toscani espressi in figura da Giuseppe Piattoli pittore fiorentino, that illustrates different proverbs.
The etching shows the representation of the ancient proverb. On the lower margin, title, and proverb.
Carlo Lasinio (Treviso 1759 - Pisa 1838). After studying painting at the Venice Academy, he devoted himself to engraving, with which he played an important role (as well as a painter): he introduced engraving on multiple plates in Italy for color printing. the impression of watercolor.
