Romare Bearden
Romare Bearden 1972 Mother and Child Screenprint

1972

About the Item

Romare Bearden: 1911-1998. Very important and well listed African American artist with auction records over $770,000. He has an auction high over $31,000 for a single print. This important colored screen print was done in 1972, and is usually titled Mother and Child. It was done in an edition of 200 and this is #15. The piece is not framed but is matted with acid free matte. Condition of the print is excellent. Approximate measurement of paper is 25 1/2 inches high by 17 3/4 wide. Matte measures 31 1/2 by 24 inches. This same print sold this summer at auction for $16,250. that one was #106 out 0f 200. This very important piece was in a terrible cheap frame so I took it out. I decided not to reframe as I figure whoever is the lucky buyer would want to pick out their own frame. If someone needs more pics please let me know.
