About the Item

A fine example of the 1802 strike of Landscape No. 7 from the etched version of the Liber Vertatis. Sculptured by Richard Earlom (1743-1822) after the original from the book by Claude Lorrain (16041605-1682). The etching has areas of mezzotint and has been produced in sepia tones. The artist's names have been inscribed at the lower edge with the publisher's details and the inscription "From the original drawing in the collection of R. P. Knight, Esq." On wove.
