Farmyard. c. 1925. Etching and drypoint. 5 1/2 x 11 (sheet 10 x 15 1/4). Edition 75, #54. A rich impression with plate tone printed on cream wove paper. Signed and numbered in pencil. Housed in a 16 x 20-inch archival mat, suitable for framing.
Herbert Gordon Warlow was born in 1885 in Sheffield, England, where he later studied at the Sheffield School of Art. In 1916 he was admitted as an Associate of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers. He was also a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects Between 1916 and 1942 Warlow exhibited his watercolor paintings and etchings in the London area at venues such as Abbey Gallery, Fine Art Gallery, Walker Art Gallery, the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers.
