One of the most pleasing red earthenware tiles created by Picasso during his time at the Madoura Foundary in Vallarius, France, Petit Soleil (little sun) was created by the artist in 1969. Measuring 4 x 6 3/8 x 7/8 in. (10.2 x 16.3 x 2.2 cm.) , this three dimensional work of art is stamped, marked and numbered 'Madoura Plein Feu/Empreinte Originale de Picasso/J.245/62/200 Madoura' (verso), was executed in an edition of 200 and is designated as AR 547 in the artist’s catalogue raisonne. Available for local pick up from Michael Lisi Contemporary Art, NYC.

    Edris Eckhardt (American, 1905-1998) Earth, c. 1939 Signed on base Glazed earthenware 20.5 x 7.5 x 7 inches Born in Cleveland, Ohio January 28, 1905, Edris was given the name Edythe Aline Eckhardt. After graduating from Cleveland's East High she enrolled in the painting program at Cleveland School of Art.
