The relief sculpture is framed. The visible jumps on the legs were intentional and existed from the start, because the artist was inspired by ancient Etruscan art.
Jerzy Mazur was born in Kołobrzeg in 1964. He graduated from the State College of Fine Arts in Gdańsk at the sculpture department under the supervision of prof. Franciszek Duszeńko.
Jerzy Mazur is an artist in whose work man has made a permanent home. His sculptures, bas-reliefs, paintings and drawings are linked by a recurring motif of a female figure presented on a neutral background, standing or sitting, full of concentration, experiencing internal dilemmas. The artist always shows this figure as a naked figure, but the nudity we watch is devoid of sexuality, it does not absorb the viewer's attention, but the gestures of her characters, their poses expressing the depth of their inner feelings.
