1950s Black Strapless Silk Satin and Lace Dress
About the Item
This seductive 1950s black silk satin cocktail dress is of superb quality and construction and in superb vintage condition. The dress features a sweetheart neckline in soft black netting with a nude satin underlay and lace ruffle embellishment over the bust. There are spaghetti straps, princess seams along the bodice and a slightly dropped, curved waistline atop of a classic 50s full skirt to create a beautiful hourglass silhouette. There is some boning in the bodice for extra support, and a central zip fastening at the reverse. The dress is unlabelled but undoubtedly retailed in a high end department store; construction techniques confirms it was manufactured in the US. Would best suit US size 4, UK size 8.
