About the Item
Lovely and complete pair of sets from the Edo period. Painted with paradise birds and flowers. The enamel and gilt are close to untouched which is really nice, 18th century.
Condition
Cups perfect, lid 1 perfect lid 2 with a bumspot line section. Saucer 1 perfect Saucer 2 with 3 lines. Also 3 firing flaws to saucers. Size saucers 152 x 25mm cups 80 x 84mm lids 88 x 20mm, total height 110

Each vase has a baluster open necked shape and has been hand painted in an Imari design with varying shades of under-glaze cobalt blue, with over-glaze burnt orange, salmon and grey enamels. The decoration alternates around the central section with many flowers, buildings, fences and other motifs.
