19th century Chinese Lacquered Wooden Plate. Rare antique Chinese Lacquered Wooden plate depicting a Folklore scene. Gilt painting of a Folklore story singed front an back. The two persons appear to be immortals, and possibly having Buddhist - Taoist significance within mythical story telling of Folklore tales. In good condition as pictured, ware to surface. Cut sculpted pieces of Elm wood joined together with small wooden pegs between the sectioned pieces, lacquered and wire banding. 19th century Chinese folklore - folk art.
