Outstanding Antique Louis XV Tulipwood & Kingwood Marquetry Jardiniere Table

About the Item

Outstanding quality 19th century Louis XV tulipwood and kingwood marquetry inlaid jardiniere table having a fabulous quality pierced gilt metal gallery top with removable top richly decorated with marquetry inlay of acanthus scrolls, flowers and leaves. The base is a serpentine shape with two panels decorated with inlaid marquetry depicting birds. It stands on slender shaped cabriole legs with lovely gilt metal mounts and sabots. An absolutely striking example with the most fantastic colours and very impressive design and craftsmanship. A first class statement piece. Measures: H 80.5cm W 75cm D 47cm Date 1860.
