19th Century English Regency Burl Wood Veneer Box With Ebonized Ball Feet
About the Item
A handsome and beautifully made English Regency burl wood veneered box. The thick burl veneer covering the four sides and top, resting on four ebonized ball feet . A rich honey patina that only comes with age and handling. Inset ebony escutcheon, working key. The top with the elegant detail of a raised beveled edge.
A fine desk top box for valuables or correspondence, or wonderful decorative piece placed anywhere. Nice scale and proportions. Circa 1825.
