Chinese Late Qing Dynasty Document Box with Brass Lock and Carrying Handles
About the Item
An antique Chinese Late Qing Dynasty period wooden document box from the early 20th century with reddish brown lacquer, brass hardware and carrying handles. Created in China during the late Qing Dynasty period in the early years of the 20th century, this wooden document box features a domed lid opening thanks to a traditional brass lock to reveal a lacquered interior with nicely distressed patina. The box showcases a reddish brown lacquer as well as a dovetail construction. The sides present C-scroll handles allowing the piece to be moved more easily, while the plinth on which it is resting comprises of petite holes made for wooden sticks to be slid into for travel. We review all of our pieces and address issues we may find before they leave for your home; however, this is an antique piece, and as such it will keep its character and some imperfections, which is the quintessence of antique and vintage furniture. With its reddish brown lacquer and elegant lines, this Chinese Late Qing Dynasty document box from the early 20th century will make for a lovely addition to any home!.
