English 19th Century Mahogany Tea Caddy
About the Item
An English 19th Century top quality, solid mahogany tea caddy. This shaped box has a carved angular top lined with satinwood opening to a fitted interior. There are two removable fitted compartments with sliding tops once used for storing loose leaf teas. The center has its original cut crystal blending bowl. The base of the box is made of rich mahogany with an inlaid satinwood shield escutcheon plate. The whole is raised on decorative bronze feet. Note that the back legs have been repaired.
