Carmelo Cappello Metal Sculpture, Triangular Spiral
About the Item
Futurist sculpture by master sculptor Cappello Carmelo entitled Triangular Spiral. Edition 5 of 6 of 1978, signature and year engraved underneath the sculpture. The work is a futurist depiction of architectural sculpture. The forms are vibrant and incisive. Each of his creations looks like a metaphysical work where the elements come together to create a figurative phase. From figurative art he moves on to Constructivism. His work creates a focus on space.
His works are cultural matrices that give rise to his personal language aimed at the declination of linear and volumetric rhythms.
Constant components of his structures are the curve, linked in the circle or marked in the ellipse, in a rigorous balance of two-dimensional relationships.
Ideal for important and imposing environments where art is the master.
Dimensions without base: 49x25x6 cm. The work is filed in the Carmelo Cappello Archive with the inventory number: A78-102. Cm 25.50 x 61.00 x 15.00. 1978.

Carmelo Cappello
Carmelo Cappello was born in Ragusa, Italy in 1912, he grew close to the Italian sculptor Ettore Colla and in the 1931 he went to Milano. Since his younger, he attended artistic studies. First he attended the Marino Marini courses at the School of Arts in Monza, Italy. In 1941 he became one friends of Giò Ponti and he started to collaborate with him. He exhibited numerous time in important exhibitions like, the Venice Biennial of Art and at the Milano Triennial of Art and also to the Quadriennial Exhibition of Art in Rome. The artist considered the Universe a not perfect circle but an irregular cosmic shape that can be observed from many points of view and every time the point of view was different. One of the basis of his structures is the curve, sometime used close to the circle and sometimes inserted into the ellipses. This vision are relevant to understand the continuous research of the artist of the equilibrium between the relations of the two-dimensional sides of the sculpture that represent the cosmos.

- Biagio Romeo Woman Sculpture, Signed 1996By RomeoLocated in Milano, ITBeautiful bronze and wood sculpture designed in 1996, fine Italian manufacture. SIGNED. The base is made of lacquered black wood. This form serves as a pedestal for the actual sculpture. The main body is represented by an entirely nude bronze woman, kneeling. The woman is seated on a rock, on which the artist's signature is carved. The woman is represented in a contorted position: in fact, she is seated with one knee on the ground, while her entire weight pivots on the other. With one arm she touches the ground to keep her balance while with the other she touches her head, as if she wanted to be photographed. The woman is completely naked and we can see this from her obvious breasts, but her bottom is also visible. The woman seems to represent a person who wants to be looked at, proudly showing herself in her nudity. A hymn to female nudity and to the beauty and harmony of the body. The sculpture is very beautiful and suitable for decorating classy areas. Bibliography: Biagio Romeo...Category
