About the Item
This exceptionally rare and beautiful Butterfly Vase was designed by Guido Andlovitz for the ceramics house, Società Ceramica Italiana, Lavenia where he was the Art Director in the 1930s. This shape and style of Andlowitz vase vase is documented in his design publications and can be seen in key museums and collections around the world. The delightful variety of butterflies were hand-painted on the vase in 1956 - signed and date on the base M.Re. Guido Andlovitz (1900-1971) was a renowned Italian ceramicist whose work is exhibited all over Italy in shows and museums around the world. The original Lavenia stamp is seen on the base as photographed. The piece is very precious and in very good condition.
