Set of Vintage French Sarreguemines Et Digoin “Bayeux” Dinnerware
About the Item
An entire set of French Vintage Sarreguemines et Digoin 'Bayeux' design 25, 9” dinner plates, 12 9” coup soup bowls, 4, 8” plates, 1, 9.5” pie plate, 1, 10.25” vegetable bowl, 1, 10.5” large bowl, and 1, 12.75” covered bowl in hand painted Cream with Green Norman House, 1930s.
These are wonderful deep plates, bowls and serving pieces dating to around the 1930s in cream with a charming green Norman house and apple tree depicted.
The stamp dates the plates between 1920 and 1960.
The design Bayeux is very rare and hard to find. Bayeux is a town in Normandy France home of the famous Bayesu Tapestry and steeped in the history of William the Conquerer.
The plates are very unusual for their time and the colors and style are more modern than they seem. They are in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There is slight crazing and some marks from the hand painting and glazing.
Set a chic French Country table for your family and friends to enjoy.
