Danese Milano I Volti, Sei Signed Print by Mimmo Paladino
About the Item
I volti, sei is a Limited Edition nine-colour silkscreen print. The series of prints entitled “I Volti” is inspired by the video “Giocosa Mente”, “a work for moving images” created by Paladino as a tribute Bruno Munari for the 100th anniversary of his birth. With simple, bright coloured marks and lively shapes that express both energy and emotion this print emits that sense of playful creativity that was typical of Munari’s work.
Mimmo Paladino is an Italian artist. He was born in 1948 in Paduli, where he still lives and works, and is one of the most famous representatives of the Italian Transavantgarde movement. His work draws inspiration from a wide range of archaeological, mythological and stylistic sources and the distinctive characteristic of his creative process is the transformation from image to symbol which creates a new set of codes and visual alphabet. His collaboration with Danese Milano adds a new dimension to his creative output as it sees the emergence of the new expressive language of light.

Mimmo Paladino
Mimmo Paladino (b. 1948, Italy) played a central role in the development of the Transavantgarde movement alongside Sandro Chia and Francesco Clemente. Regarded as the Italian version of Neo-Expressionism, Transavantgarde revived the emotion, figuration and mysticism in art. Paladino’s sculptures, paintings and prints often reference past art historical traditions, modernizing iconography with distinct, graceful elongation. Paladino attended the Benevento Art High School, where he was influenced by Pop artists Claes Oldenburg and Jim Dine. The artist has exhibited internationally, including at the 1980 Venice Biennale and the 1982 documenta VII. His work can be found in prominent collections worldwide, notably the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden (Washington, D.C), Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), Museum of Fine Arts (Houston) and Tate Modern (London).
