He was born in Murano on May 11, 1939, and in 1966 he obtained a degree in Architecture in Venice. Since 1963, he has been exhibiting his work at national and international tradeshows dedicated to gadgets, lighting and furniture. He specializes in industrial design, architecture, renovation and interior design. In the glass field, he started working in his father's glass-making factory "Fratelli Toso." He designed objects, his first creation being a series of modular elements with a self-bearing system completely made of glass which he used to put together large lighting installations in Europe, the United States, Japan and Arab countries. He won first prize at the International Art Biennial of Venice, two first prizes from the Bevilacqua La Masa foundation and a first prize for an exhibition of artistic glass in Venice. Since 1969, he has been collaborating with Leucos, designing a collection of glass objects and modular lighting elements. He has always been particularly interested in the search for new materials and glass processing techniques. His work is on display at the Corning Museum of New York and at the Victoria and Albert Museum of London. Some of his lamps were selected and displayed by the Pompidou Centre of Paris.
