Erie County New York Judges & Police Conference Portable Lecturn or Podium & Bag

About the Item

The maker of this lecturn is unknown, but presumed to have originated from the United States and date to approximately 1965. The podium is composed of pine boards and playwood with hinged sides and top and has been painted black with gilt accents. This lecturn was used in the Erie County Judges and Police Conference and displays the crest prominately on the front. This conference began is approximately 1932 and is a multi-disciplinary information exchange between area judges, police, medical doctors and child protection services which still exists today. The podium is lighted and completely folds flat and fits into a canvas bag. The lecturn measures about three inches deep, and twenty four inches wide and approximately twenty three inches in height when collapsed and slid into the carrying bag.
