Whimsical pair of vintage Kirman Runners
Each 1' 8" x 7'
Beautiful pair of runners woven in the famed city of Kirman. Kirman rugs have been popular since the early 20th century. Known for their intricate formal designs and plush construction, Kirman rugs last forever and are absolutely timeless. This pair of runners were salvaged from a much larger rug, preserving the beautiful borders of this intricate carpet.
The pile of these beautiful runners in comprised of finely knotted Persian wool. Shortly after the era when this rug produced to keep up with the increased demand in Kirman rugs, the artisans changed their knotting style. Kirmans after this period were much lighter and easily wear, but older pieces such as this feature a high level of craftsmanship and detail that greatly set them apart from younger creations.
These pieces feature a beautiful cream base, accompanied by soothing pastel pinks, blues, and greens. The length and width of these runners make them very versatile and go along the edges of a kitchen island or even a bed, you could also incorporate at the foot of the bed in two rooms, creating some continuity through out your home. These colors look great with wood tones and can be paired with any decor.
Despite being 70 plus years of age these rugs are full and in great condition. There are no stains present and they lay perfectly flat. They are in spectacular condition considering how loved these rugs are.
This piece, like the rest of our collection, was hand-picked by Persian Rug expert and Shiraz native, Jason Dadras. Each piece was acquired through the relationships he forged around the world. Our rugs are ethically sourced and have been legally imported.
