About the Item
This magnificent French late 18th - early 19th Century (1796 - 1825) sofa hand carved in the manner of Jacob-Desmalter - an influential chairmaker and cabinetmaker who worked for King Louis XVI of France- is made of precious hand carved solid mahogany and upholstered in red velvet fabric.
This settee features an extremely comfortable high and slightly arched back, large and firm seat that can comfortably accommodate 3 people.
