ORIGIN 00008 Desk
About the Item
This desk is the first piece of our work, Polcha, we wanted to work the materials in trompe l'oeil and graphic forms to come, visually, destructure the original form, come to disrupt the reading of the lines. The marble gives a density that disturbs our senses and the graphic interventions come to disrupt the traditional character of a desk.

Polcha
POLCHA is the fruit of a fifteen-year friendship between two free and creative minds: Pauline and Charlotte. PAULINE LEYRAVAUD was graduated of ESAG Penninghen and gold medalist of the Van der Kellen Institute, is an outstanding technician. Pauline uses her multiple skills: trompe-l'oeil, sign painting, eglomerate glass and
and glasses gilding for the creation of frescoes and scenographic scenery. CHARLOTTE TARBOURIECH graduated of Studio Bercot, has collaborated with major fashion houses in Paris, London and Italy. She is specialized in the design of shoes, It's with the manufacturers that Charlotte finds what drives her: a combination of creativity, knowledge of materials and savoir faire. POLCHA has fun playing with the lines and shapes of vintage furniture, to reappropriate and transform them. Each design is given a new identity through a choice of colours and materials: a vibrant and original upcycling that makes each piece unique. The combination of design and technical know how is at the heart of Polcha’s DNA, the meeting point between classic and modern aesthetics. The common thread running through all Polcha’s pieces are: quality, beauty and durability. The will of Pauline and Charlotte is, above all, to pay homage to all pieces that already exist,
recreating and reinventing them through the union of ancestral techniques and graphic researches. Polcha also works on «sur-mesure», including the transformation of furniture. All Polcha furniture is unique.
