This is an antique framed sampler. An English, cross-stitch apprentice piece from the late Victorian period, dated to 1896. Sought after Victorian sampler Displays a desirable aged patina Hessian cloth with colorful cross-stiched thread Small date mark to the bottom, reading 1896 Presented in a modern frame, with decorative border and glass plate The adage 'More Haste, Less Speed' sits either side of a sequence of numbers Two charming caricatures of a working farmer illustrates the piece Colorful foliate border adds further visual interest This is a charming antique sampler. Set within a tasteful modern frame, this example of Victorian cross-stitch practise is a rare occasion to acquire such a piece. Delivered polished and ready for display.
