This charming 19th century Dutch Old Master school study is taken from Dirck van Santvoort's 1633 painting of Christ revealing himself to the pilgrims of Emmaus. The original now hangs in the Louvre and is heavily inspired by Rembrandt's painting on the same subject. Unsigned. Presented in a glazed gilt frame. On paper.
