Elmer Simms Campbell was a brilliant illustrator and cartoon artist and was also the first African American cartoonist to be nationally syndicated in major newsstand magazines such as Esquire, Life, Judge, and Playboy. This particular work was done for King Syndicate copyright of 1946. It is framed in perhaps its original frame with glass and is signed lower right. Scattered surface smudges on the periphery and edges of the live area
