Questo piccolo disegno, che per gli evidenti stilemi neoclassici può essere datato fra la fine del XVIII e gli inizi del XIX secolo, rappresenta la fuga del re Giacomo II Stuart-ultimo re cattolico di Inghilterra, Scozia e Irlanda-come riportato dal titolo "The flight of James 2nd" che corre lungo il bordo inferiore. L'episodio avvenne fra la fine del 1688 e il 1689 in seguito alla richiesta di aiuto dei protestanti rivolta a Guglielmo d'Orange, marito della figlia protestante del sovrano, cosa che non fu accettata da Giacomo II che buttò nel Tamigi il Grande Sigillo Reale e scappò in Francia. Guglielmo prese il trono e, data l'assenza di violenza e spargimento di sangue, questa seconda rivoluzione viene detta "la gloriosa".
