About the Item

Hoda’s approach to painting is based on the direct painting method which means that her goal is to start and finish a painting while the paint is still wet. This allows the paint to “mingle” on the canvas and create new colors. She uses mainly flat brushes and loves the “square” brush stroke that comes through these brushes. By layering the strokes beside and on top of each other she can achieve the subtle changes in a flower petal or the leaves of a tree. “I see life in color and painting is the only language I know that truly allows me to say what I want to say. Every day, I come across moments that intrigue me and I feel the need to capture them on canvas and to share them with others. When I paint, I am able to express my thoughts and feelings in a universal language.
