The artist signed at lower left and dated the painting 1990. Perfect for a kids room. Carol Jablonsky’s lithographs, etchings, and sculptures are exhibited and collected throughout the United States, Mexico, and beyond. Her whimsical works demonstrate the skills she acquired during years of technical art education. Born in 1939 in Port Washington, New York, Carol Jablonsky studied at Boston University in Massachusetts, the Arts Students League in New York, and the Institute Allende in Mexico. Carol Jablonski created works in a variety of media, including watercolor, tempera painting, casein painting, etching, drypoint, and lithograph. Her technical artistry and unique style gained Jablonsky a serious following among public and private art collectors. Her work was typified by delicate colors and imaginative characterizations. She devoted many hours of painstaking research to each image, drawing upon a wide variety of sources, including medieval book illuminations and sculpture, Roman frescoes, the Bible, astrology, Oriental philosophies and American and English literature. The resulting imagery had intense symbolism that belied its simplicity. Her works encompassed a variety of subjects, including the mythological character Pegasus, animal creatures from a medieval bestiary, and the bible story of Moses. Between 1975 and 1979, Jablonsky devoted herself to a project based on the theme of the Garden of Eden." Jablonsky's works are filled with images of children, animals, mythology and legends, religion, mysticism, and spirituality. Jablonsky’s work has been featured in exhibits at: • The El Paso Museum of Art in Texas • The National Society of Painters, Casein, New York • The Palace of the Legion of Honor, San Francisco, California • Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pennsylvania • The Society of the Four Arts, Palm Beach, Florida Her one-person exhibitions were held at Circle Galleries and Collectors Circle Galleries throughout the United States. Circle Fine Arts published Jablonsky’s original graphic works beginning in 1972. Jablonsky passed away in 1992 but her work continues to be widely collected, exhibited, and admired.
