In the early morning there is silence and stillness in the air. A small hummingbird hovers in place, enjoying the sunlight. Candice says that this piece intends to capture the heart - the essence of the moment. The painting is partially varnished in a matte finish over the red abstract area. Candice layered the area with varnish and sanded to an ultra smooth and slick surface, a process requiring skill and patience.
