About the Item

Antique Dog Painting of "Mignonne" dated 1876 Louis Eugène Bourgeois (French 1831-1878) Pastel on cardboard Signed lower left "E. Bourgeois" Inscribed upper right "Mignonne." Reverse of the painting is inscribed (?): "16 June 1874" 10 3/8 x 10 3/8 (13 3/8 x 13 3/8 frame) inches A finely studied and beautiful executed portrait of Mignonne-which means "cute"-with her pretty baby blue bow.
