2000s

About the Item

The Egg is an original oil painting on canvas, realized in the 2000s by the emerging artist Anastasia Kurakina. Hand-signed on the higher left margin. Signed on the back. Realized in Rome (as reported on the back). Very good conditions. This beautiful artwork represents a surreal composition with a woman from behind and what appears to be a large egg in the foreground. ANASTASIA KURAKINA was born in 1987 in Moscow (Russia). She studied in Moscow and in Rome. At present, she lives and works in Paris, London, Monte Carlo, Milan, Moscow, and Rome. Her psychologically analytical works are a kind of art fables. • Afternoon - 21st Century Contemporary Oil Painting by Dutch Marten Huitsing
    By Marten Huitsing
    Located in Nuenen, Noord Brabant
The paintings of this artist have been part of the collection of Galerie Bonnard since his graduation (2010) at the Classical Academy of Groningen. Huitsing has quickly become successful, his style, craftsmanship and choice of subject appeals to many people. Yet Marten, he says, does not want to repeat himself. He is always looking for the way of painting that suits him at that moment. The sympathetic artist got national fame because he beautifully portrayed a famous Dutch TV presentator Mart Smeets in the 'Paint the stars' program. Honest, very recognizable and with a narrative painting. Mart Smeets was overwhelmed, praising his comments. Rightly so! From that moment. Marten Huitsing...

  • The Service, 21st Century Contemporary Painting of a waiter in a restaurant
    By Flip Gaasendam
    Located in Nuenen, Noord Brabant
Flip Gaasendam The Service 55 x 50 cm Oil on Canvas This painting is framed (included in price) 60 x 55 cm This painting is made by Flip Gaasendam. An important member of the 'Dutch Northern Figurative Painters' . His paintings are called 'Poems in paint' . The place where he painted this work is at Schiermonnikoog, one of the Islands in the north of the Netherlands. He likes to stay and work on the island and pains he typical sphere of the old Dutch sphere in that famous Hotel, Hotel van der Werff. Flip Gaasendam tells with his paintings what he likes, there, in those places, he paints. His recognizable loose touch, carefully chosen colors, spherical landscapes, interiors and portraits have been part of the permanent collection of Galerie Bonnard for years. hat is, we believe, a good description of the works of this highly esteemed artist. "Poetry in paintings" is also a statement that fits with the work and can be read in the numerous descriptions that can be found about the artist. The artist himself says that he wants to put life to a halt in his work. He says the following about his way of working: 'Because I am an aquarellist from home, I learned how to paint transparently in tone and tone. I also use that in my oil paints. My work is classified as post-impressionistic. When I paint, however, I forget everything about art history. I like a lot of things, from Alma Tadema to Andrew Wyeth, but I am a painter of today. It therefore goes too far to say that I consciously go back to the past. I work unorthodox. I do not apply the paint with a fixed method. I brush with wipes, use the palette knife, work with my hands, etc. That my palette is heavily controlled by the color green, is because I often make a painting blond with cobalt and ocher. My themes are often nostalgic and romantic. as a child, I thought the morning mist was beautiful, and with the light effect in the Groninger station restoration it is just as well. ' This modest artist can rightly be called one of the forerunners of the new impressionism...

  • Rabid - Cinema Inspired One Eyed Male Figure, Oil Painting on Panel
    Located in Chicago, IL
Inspired by a still from the 1977 horror film, "Rabid". This is the division of morality. A portrait of an individual cast mostly in shadow. The only portion of his face hit with light has no eye, leaving him to only see through his darkness. The bold heavy brushstrokes of this painting give an abstract quality where the shadows and light are transformed it into a dynamic and vibrantly alive scene. Georgia Hinaris Rabid oil on panel 18h x 18w in 45.72h x 45.72w cm GHS010 Horror films are the most profound and visceral of films, garnering the most extreme responses: vehement hatred and cultish admiration. Horror elicits a controlled neurosis while exposing the rejected weaknesses and brutalities of humanity. I embrace the power of cinema and its ability to alter perception, as it is media that is a reflection of our primordial desires. I’m fascinated by concepts involving the limits of human perception, the ambiguity of morality in relation to nature, the paradoxical nature of reality, and the human struggle to reckon with uncertainty. Humans bear the burden of being as we are, all caught in a flux of unbelievable cognitive abilities and animalistic instincts. Every painting is in its own universe and I cater to it. Nothing is precious. Chaos is embraced. Georgia Hinaris, b. 1993, Chicago, Illinois Education 2019 MFA Painting, New York Academy of Art, New York, NY 2015 BFA Painting, Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY Exhibitions 2020 Summer Exhibition, Flowers Gallery, New York, NY Summer Juried Exhibition, Prince Street Gallery, New York, NY 2019 Di Donna Gallery, New York, NY AXA Art Prize, San Francisco Art Institute, San Francisco, CA, Richard Gray...
