Peaceful view of a countryside landscape in brown, green, and ocher colors where two white peasant houses stand out in the background. Behind them, the fields are lost in a gray horizon that merges with a luminous sky in various shades.
The chromatic scale is very well resolved, the brushstrokes are thick and the play of textures is very rich.
Francisco Calabuig is a Spanish artist born in the mid-20th century. This landscape, painted in 1977, is a painting of youth with a style typical of Spanish avant-garde figuration of the last quarter of the 20th century and a little far from the impressionism that he opted for later.
