Zoran Šimunović paint ordinary and familiar objects to capture the visual potential of reality and to urge the public to consider the artistic potential in everything around them. The reference to inflatable dolls is for him a symbolic way of talking about sex without shocking, making it visually accessible to all, a subject often considered as sensitive.
In this piece, pink clearly stands out. This colour is particularly dear to the artist, who declares: “The house reflects my personality, and I am an incorrigible optimist. I always say that I don’t see the world through rose-tinted glasses, but through rose-tinted eyes. This colour makes me incredibly happy, so I try to include it in my artworks and house”.
