About the Item
Landscape of Fontainebleau
Georges Bousquet Moret (1904-1976) was, first, an engineer passionate about arts. This passion led him to devote his free time to visiting museums and he bought canvases, tubes of paint and sketchbooks.
The first paintings produced were perfect and disconcerting classicism. This mastery of technique and his knowledge of classicism would allow him to evolve towards other, more modern conceptions of Art.
He studied in a Parisian academic school of fine arts and spent his free time in Le Louvre.
In the years 1938-1939, Georges Bousquet discovered the impressionist and pointillist conception of painting, and he made his first attempts in these disciplines.
Sweeping his watercolors with large brush strokes, or adding small touches of color. Certainly, Georges Bousquet is, and will remain, until his end, a figurative artist, but he wishes to add to his works, this vibration of light.
His works are referenced in the main database artist such as Artprice, Akoun...
Structural Analysis :
It's a landscape painting of the forest in Fontainebleau. 4 larges trees are crossing the scene. In the background of the painting, there is a blue sky. Heavy texture brush strokes can be seen.
Is it really a figurative painting? There is definitely abstraction in this painting. The repetition of patterns can be confusing for a watcher.
However, if you step back 2 or 3 meters _ the magic of Impressionism and Pointillism works and finally... you can see the representation of the forest!
Color analysis:
The blue color of the sky contrasts with salmon pink and ocre touches in the leafs and grass.
Technique: oil on canvas 33x41cm / 13x16.2 inch
It is signed _ "Bousquet" On the front of the artwork.
Condition : good condition - the canvas buckles a little with the amount of paint. No cracks. The colors are vivid

Artworks are in private collections all over the world: USA, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands, France, Spain, South Africa, Egypt, Australia, Japan, Singapore. The main focus of my painting is underwater world. I draw my inspiration during scuba diving. Underwater I have learnt not only about the many life-forms, but the shapes and colors of everything in that realm continue to blow my mind. I feel like I am in another dimension. I am an artist one of the new pioneers in the growing field of underwater painting and Andre Laban follower. I developed my own special course of underwater painting and approved it in PADI. By teaching people scuba diving and underwater painting I open a new world of inspiration, artistry and creativity. I help people to experience artistic way to live. Scuba Divers witness the changes happening in the ocean – and can be among the first to raise the awareness of others to these growing problems. Nowadays most scuba divers have underwater cameras, to record the treasures and tragedies happening underwater – in this case evidence of the destruction of marine life. Art too, is a very effective tool and medium to communicate these messages. My art is my language. I would like to make people more human, more spiritual, to find their soul, love and kindness through the reunion with nature. So I am very happy to have opportunity to attract people by my art to the nature, in diver to find an art person and show a new reality – underwater world to art person. I believe that with my paintings more people will fall in love with the world of the sea, and become involved in the protection of our oceans for future generations to enjoy and wonder at. That is what I wish to come of these works and this experience in my life. That is what I wish to come of these works and this experience in my life.
