About the Item

Sir Frank William Brangwyn RA RWS RBA 1867-1956, was a painter, print maker, illustrator and designer. He was prolific and produced a huge number of works, over 12,000, he was autodidact, however he did receive some limited artistic training from his father and in the workshops of William Morris. He was widely travelled and had a very long and productive career. This picture depicts a quay scene with a lighthouse, the location at the moment is unidentified but thought to be Italy. The painting is canvas laid on board and would benefit from being returned to a stretcher. It is in need of some conservation, which is reflected in the price.
