Clarence Keiser Hinkle: 1880-1960. Well listed California artist with Auction records up to $76,000 but sells for much more in galleries. This fabulous fresh to the market oil on masonite seems to be Hinkle’s homage to Vermeers famous painting of the Girl with Pearl earring. The painting measures 22 inches high by 18 inches wide and is painted on the rough side of the Masonite which Hinkle did often. The beautiful hand carved frame appears to be original to the painting and it measures 25 1/2” x 21 1/2”. The painting is fresh to the market and appears to have been a gift in 1939 as there is a little note from Hinkle on the back.
