Guido HarariKate Bush Underwater Tryptich
About the Item
Underwater triptyc of Kate Bush captured during a photo shoot in London in 1989
Signed limited edition print, number 4/50
Guido Harari revealed during an interview with The Guardian newspaper, "I thought she looked like the figurehead of a ship. So I would make her look as though she was swimming towards the camera underwater. Why not three Kates – all swimming in the water? She had to stand really still so she wouldn’t go out of focus because I was using a wide aperture, so there was no depth of field. She had to walk out of the shot, then back in, stand very still, and do the same again. I knew it was going to be great but it was going to take time and patience – and you don’t get either often from famous people when you’re photographing them.”

Guido Harari
Guido Harari has photographed many music legends in his prolific career in Italy. Lou Reed said about him: "I'm always happy when Guido takes my picture because I know it will be a musical picture. And it will also have some poetry and feeling to it. The things that Guido captures with his portraits are generally speaking ignored by other photographers. I consider Guido a friend, not a photographer". Guido started out in the early Seventies as a music photographer and journalist, also exploring reportage, fashion, advertising and corporate photography. He’s produced record covers for Kate Bush, David Crosby, Bob Dylan, B.B. King, Ute Lemper, Paul McCartney, Michael Nyman, Lou Reed, Simple Minds and Frank Zappa.
