JUNE WAYNE (1918 - 2011) THE TUNNEL II, 1951 (B.69; G.14; Conway 67) Lithograph, signed, numbered, dated July 1951 and titled incorrectly The Target. Edition 35. 15 3/4 x 19 3/4 inches, Full sheet with deckle edges, 19 x 23 inches. Annotated: Donald Bear. He was the Director of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. Printed by Lynton Kistler, with his blind stamp. June Wayne is a highly important figure in the world of lithography. Widely exhibited artist, art teacher, arts activist, woman's advocate. She was instrumental in the founding of the important Tamarind printing workshop.
