She is, according to the headdress, the Goddess Minerva, goddess of the wisdom. the Goddess is taking off a veil to reveal herself. Ferdinand-Sigismond Bach, known as Ferdinand Bac was a French cartoonist, artist and writer, son of an illegitimate nephew of the Emperor Napoleon.
