LeRoy Neiman
LeRoy Neiman "Polo Lounge" - Signed, Framed, Large - Find the Movie Stars!

1988

About the Item

This is a signed press proof of one of Leroy Neiman's coolest images, created originally for Playboy Magazine in two panels. This never fails to get guests' attention on the wall, as they try to name the movie stars! (I have photographed it both indoors and outdoors in natural light - sorry for reflections.) It depicts many of America's favorite film stars, all together in the famous Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills. You can find Humphrey Bogart, Marilyn Monroe, Lauren Bacall, Dean Martin, Elizabeth Taylor, Clark Gable, Johnny Carson, W. C. Fields, Frank Sinatra, Errol Flynn, Kathrine Hepburn, Liza Minnelli, Rock Hudson and others. Leroy Neiman himself is in here as well! Check out W.C. Fields reading the menu upside down! Presented in an expensive and complex beveled mat and and frame. 25" x 48" framed, print measures 12" x 36" without the frame. Proudly presented by Guy Lyman Fine Art, New Orleans, with our firm guarantee of satisfaction.

  • The Little Wanderer (Framed 19th Century Antique Figure Etching)
    Located in New Orleans, LA
(Sorry for the reflections on the glass in the photos.) A little boy runaway has returned home, hat in hand, to the relief of his poor beleaguered mother (burdened with four other children, apparently) and the upbraiding of his grandmother. So many fabulous details in this 19th-century etching, in addition to its amazing engraving work (every bit of it originally incised on a metal plate!). Placard on back says "Published exclusively for members of the Crosby Opera House Art...

  • Original "He Is Risen" vintage poster for Mathers Work Incentive Program
    Located in Spokane, WA
Original American work incentive poster: ‘HE IS RISEN”. Artist: Willared Frederick Elmes. This isn't actually a war/propaganda poster per se, but it was produced by Mather & Co. Elmes was an artist similar to Mather in that they were both prolific with their morale + work incentive posters in the 1930s. Elmes also created other pieces done for the early railway posters. The poster with the stained-glass panel in the back and the ray of light shining in is the last Mather & Company poster printed (1930). All others were printed in 1929 and earlier. The very last in the Work Incentive Mather’s posters...
