By 1919 Hermann Käthelhön had established himself and was well known for his numerous drawings, etchings and woodcuts of people and landscapes of the Schwalm in Willingshausen. He portrayed peasants with great care, was fascinated by the Willingshausen landscape and captivated by the motifs of field work.
