A round-shape dining table with a steel base and glass on top, designed by Giotto Stoppino, Italian Manufacture, 1970s. Giotto Stoppino has been one of the architects that inspired the Neoliberty, the architectural movement that – in the 50s – ruled our country, and that was the answer to the international modernism that, at that time, was extremely popular. As an architect, Giotto Stoppino signed many projects: buildings, offices, the headquarters of the Banca Popolare di Novara in Bra, textile factories. In Milan, he created buildings in Via Palmanova, Via Cassoni, and Via Desiderio. He had been a member of ADI (Association for Industrial Design) since 1960, he was one of the board members of the association, and he was president from 1982 to 1984. But it’s mostly his projects and his design products that conquered the heart and got engraved in the memory of the Italians (and others), so much that he was nominated for two Compasso d’Oro awards (in 1960 and 1970) and won two Compasso d’oro (in 1979 for the Acerbis’ Sheraton...

Midcentury chrome base and smoked glass top dining table. This marvellous dining table was designed by Giotto Stoppino in Italy during 1970s. This amazing piece is unique as its complex lines are built just fusing two elements, the chromed base and the smoked glass top. A fantastic item that will be the central element of a midcentury living room. Measure (cms): diameter - 118 Giotto Stoppino (Vigevano 1926 - Milan 2011) was an Italian architect and designer, one of the major exponents of Italian design. After studying architecture in Venice and Milan he worked from 1953- 1968 in the Architetti Associati studio with V. Gregotti and L. Meneghetti, participating in the Milanese exhibition "New designs for Italian furniture" in 1960. In 1968 he founded his own independent studio focusing on the design of furnishings by participating in numerous international exhibitions, including the Milan Triennale and, in 1972, the exhibition "Italy: the New domestic landscape" held at Moma in New York.
