About the Item

This mid-2000s Marni skirt and top set is constructed from a brocade that features an impressionist watercolor patterning of robin’s egg blue, azure, lilac, and wisteria with a raised gold botanical motif. Following the organic and natural detail in the textile design, the top has a rounded neck and undulating all-in-one sleeves and is fitted on one side with an exposed fisheye dart and a horizontal dart at the waist, while the other side is fitted with traditionally sewn darts. The back is fitted by exposed horizontal darts and a centre back box-pleat. The skirt rests on the hips and hits at knee level with an ethereal flouncing achieved through asymmetric seaming that complicate the flow of the gold leaf motif. This ensemble is a spellbinding color harmony that works beautifully together or can be mixed and matched with stylish ease.
