Set of Two Ceramic and Tumbaga Vases in Mate Finish by Romoherrera

About the Item

Inspired by the movement and flow of the sea urchin, this organic centerpiece is made out of glazed ceramic and tumbaga metal accents. 100% handmade by expert craftsmen, each sheet of metal wire is hand bent and cut, and wrapped around the ceramic object. The glaze is safe to introduce water and is lead free. Due to the strict handmade policy in our workshops, although replicable, each piece is one of its kind, no hammer blow or bend can be replicated exactly. Cristina Romo, Third generation in a family of Designers, daughter of Emilia Castillo, as a child she began drawing and developed interest in the world of Silversmithing. Using ancestral techniques passed on by her family, Cristina reinterprets the traditional art of silversmithing and brings a creative and modern twist to metalwork at the ROMOHERRERA Workshops, with her husband Architect and designer Eduardo Herrera as her partner. Today, scenes and elements from every day life and ever-evolving nature inspire her designs.
